UAE e-invoicing: the dates that matter in 2026–2027
Timeline at a glance
1 July 2026
Pilot & voluntary adoption
Ministry of Finance timeline: pilot programme and voluntary adoption open. Confirm whether your participation is invitation-only for the pilot cohort.
30 October 2026
Revenue ≥ AED 50 million — appoint ASP
Large businesses must appoint an Accredited Service Provider by this date (timeline previously cited 31 July 2026 before an extension — re-confirm on MoF). Mandatory go-live remains 1 January 2027.
1 January 2027
Revenue ≥ AED 50 million — mandatory go-live
Structured e-invoices via an ASP; PDF-only B2B processes are not the target end state.
31 March 2027
Revenue < AED 50 million — appoint ASP
SME cohort ASP appointment deadline under the published phased rollout.
1 July 2027
Revenue < AED 50 million — mandatory go-live
Most free zone SMEs fall here unless revenue crosses the AED 50 million line.
1 October 2027
Government entities — go-live
Commonly cited under the MoF phased plan for government entity go-live (ASP often aligned to 31 March 2027) — confirm in the current MoF timeline; less widely republished than the SME and large-business dates.
What founders should not confuse
E-invoicing is a Ministry of Finance / FTA systems mandate for in-scope B2B and B2G flows. It is not the same as Corporate Tax registration, Small Business Relief elections, or Qualifying Free Zone Person status. Each has its own primary text.
B2C is widely described as out of scope until further notice under the 2025 decisions — confirm before you assume consumer invoices are exempt forever.
Licence and visa package pricing still belongs on the hidden-costs guide, not on this page.
Where CoreSpaces can help
Business Setup helps you choose and form the right free zone entity. CoreSpaces IT Services is the practice that talks systems integration, ASP readiness, and operational tooling — the compliance-shaped entry point when e-invoicing becomes a delivery problem, not a brochure problem.
We are not an FTA-registered tax agent and we do not replace your ASP selection process. We help you sequence entity, systems, and advisors without selling yesterday's ESR package.
FAQ
Does e-invoicing apply to free zone companies?
The MoF framework is described as applying to persons conducting business in the UAE for in-scope B2B and B2G transactions, with limited exclusions. Free zone incorporation does not, by itself, remove the obligation — confirm scope against Ministerial Decisions 243/2025 and 244/2025 for your transaction mix.
Is July 2026 my compliance deadline?
For most SMEs, 1 July 2026 is the start of pilot / voluntary adoption, not the mandatory go-live. Mandatory SME go-live is 1 July 2027 under the published timeline, with an earlier ASP appointment date. Large businesses (≥ AED 50m) go live 1 January 2027.
What is an Accredited Service Provider?
An ASP is a Ministry of Finance–accredited provider that connects your systems to the e-invoicing network (Peppol-based continuous transaction control). Appointment is a technical integration project, not a form tick — budget weeks, not a weekend.
